Message from Former Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan

I am glad to learn that Pakistan Cricket Association for the Physically Handicapped (PCAPH) is organizing All Pakistan Cricket Tournament of Physically Handicapped Teams at Islamabad in June,2008. It is heartening that physically handicapped sport persons from all over Pakistan will be competing in this tournament. This shows the determination of the physically disabled persons that they will not lag behind in any field of activities in the country.Sports play an important role by inculcating the qualities like hard work, team spirit and self-confidence in the citizens, while such sports events serve as a strong medium for national integration, peace and brotherhood amongst all sports persons. The Government is fully committed to the promotion of sports amongst youth of the country, including the physically handicapped persons. However, this requires development of the world class sports infrastructure, which is only possible through joint efforts of public and private sector. As such, I would like to invite the private sector to come forward and contribute in our efforts for the development of modern sports facilities and infrastructure in all parts of the country. I take this opportunity to felicitate PCAPH for organizing this event, and wish them all success in their endeavours.

MESSAGE FROM MAJID KHAN ( Former Test Cricketer, CEO PCB 1996-99)

In the world of conflict and uncertainty, the only building force among international communities is sport. Sporting events are the harbinger of peace and tranquility. They are a breath of fresh air and relief to the hard pressed humanity. Without this outlet, who know what the people of the world will endure. It is wonderful to see people of various lifestyles coming together to organize themselves into healthy and peaceful activities, especially the physically handicapped. I wish Pakistan Cricket Association for the Physically Handicapped the best of luck in their endeavor to establish their association as an awareness for their cause among the public.

MESSAGE FROM THE MESSAGE FROM THE PATRON (Brig(Retd) Munawar Rana-Director/CEO Pakistan Cricket Board ,2002 – 2002 )

It is a supreme honour for me to be asked to help establish a cricket organization for the physically handicapped. I am overwhelmed by this request. I am even more touched by the zeal and determination of the movers of this idea. Their initiative is supreme and to my knowledge the first of its kind at the national level. My prayers are with the handicapped. May they enjoy this game of gentleman to the fullest. We are grateful to them for giving us the opportunity to be of some help to them.

MESSAGE FROM DR, NASEEM ASHRAF (Chairman) Pakistan Cricket Board 2006-08)

It is with a deep sense of joy and pleasure that I have learnt about the brochure which the Pakistan Cricket Association for Physically Handicapped (PCAPH) Islamabad is bringing out to highlight the Association’s aims and objectives as well as the future plans. It is, indeed, a very far sighted and well conceived step which will go a long way in promoting cricket amongst physically challenged persons as well. The physically challenged cricket players of the world, and those in Pakistan, have manifested to the world their ability and potential by meaningfully participating in sporting activity. Cricket is not merely a game to them but a vehicle to overcome their physical challenges. In that context, the courage and dedication of the physically challenged cricketers is, indeed, a great example not just for the similarly afflicted but those amongst us who are better endowed but still somehow get overawed by minor setbacks. The Pakistan Cricket Board is committed to extend every possible assistance and support to Pakistan Cricket Association for Physically Handicapped (PCAPH) for the promotion of cricket amongst handicapped. On behalf of the Pakistan Cricket Board and on my own behalf, I extend my best wishes to the Association and also to all physically challenged cricketers for their commitment to the game of cricket, while wishing them every success.
