PCAPH Switzerland tour highly successful

(10.-16.9.2014)

The tour of Switzerland by the Pakistan Cricket Association for the Physically Handicapped (PCAPH) has been hailed a great success by all concerned. The whirlwind tour, held over seven days (10-17.9.2014), was initiated and organised by Geneva International CC's vice-President Madame Huong T. Huynh.

Cricket Switzerland and several of its clubs sponsored the tour materially and in kind.

Matches were played against five Cricket Switzerland teams:

  • CERN - match tied (read the match report)
  • La Chat - won by PCAPH
  • Geneva International - won by PCAPH
  • Cossonay - won by PCAPH
  • Berne (Day/Night) - won by Berne

Before the last match, against Berne, the touring group were received by the Pakistan Ambassador to Switzerland, Dr. H.E. Aman Rashid, who also kindly attended the Berne match.
A trophy was presented by Cricket Switzerland to the touring team as a memento of their visit.
For their part, the tourists were deeply appreciative of the arrangements made for them, the friendliness of all who were involved and the opportunity to visit Switzerland.  It was a particular pleasure for the team members to play on the lush green fields of Switzerland.

MOL Super 8 T20 Challenge Cup

In April 2013 PCAPH Organized MOL Super Eight T-20 Cricket Challenge for the Physically Handicapped. It was the first time when PCAPH organized such an event in Sheikhupura, Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar. KPK won this tournament by beating Islamabad in the finalay at Arbab Niaz Stadium Peshawer.

Opening of MOL Super 8 T20 Challenge Cup 2013 MD, MOL Mr. Ferenc Juhász was the Chief Guest along with, the Ambassador of Hungary as Guest of Honor at the occasion. The opening ceremony was also participated by the Ambassadors of Canada, Australia and Deputy High Commissioner of the United Kingdom along with other Diplomats and Dignitaries from the city.(Shalimar Cricket Ground Islamabad)

ICRC 150th anniversary T-20 AJK Vs Federal Area

In Feb, 2013, PCAPH celebrated the 150th anniversary of RED CROSS by arranging a friendly match between PACPH and Muzaffarabad handicapped cricket team at Muzaffarabad cricket stadium in Kashmir. This historic event was also witnessed by official from ICRC who visited from Switzerland to honor the cause.

INDO-PAK T-20 Match at World Disable day

On 3rd December 2012 PACPH celebrated the World Disabled day by inviting Indian Team to Pakistan for a T-20 International. Pakistan Handicapped Team marked the day by winning the match by a huge margin.

Pak Handicapped Team tour to India

In October 2012, Pakistan Handicapped Cricket Team counter visited to India, as invited by the Indian Handicapped team where it played 3 ODI’s and a T-20 International, where PACPH successfully managed to get the tour on its name by winning the ODI series by 2-1 and the T-20 match. Beating India on its soil was a historical step toward PACPH success.

Pak-Afghan Physically handicapped Cricket Series

In July 2012 PACPH managed to invite Afghan Handicapped team. The tour consisted of 3 T-20 International series, won by Pakistani Handicapped Team by 3-0.

MOL-Indo-Pak Cricket Series

In June 2012 Indian Handicapped cricket team visited Pakistan to play 3 ODI’s and only T-20 International in Islamabad. Despite of all security concerns it has been the major achievement of PCAPH.

MOL T20 Triangular Series

In 2011 PCAPH start searching its best 45 players by organizing events throughout the country and held Tri angular series in Islamabad where it announced its first National Handicapped Cricket team.

Al-Ghurair Giga National Championship

In June 2008 PCAPH proudly organized its first ever Al Ghurair Giga National Championship where teams from Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, KPK, Federal Areas and Kashmir took part. Federal Minister for Sports & Culture ,Mr.Najam Ud Din Khan was Chief Guest in final between KPK vs Punjab.KPK become1st National Champion .

In February 2006 first ever physically Handicapped Cricket match played between PCAPH Green and PCAPH Blue at Embassy Cricket Ground G-5, Islamabad .Former Test Cricketer Col(R) Naushad Ali was Chief Guest at the event.
